Christmas 2013

Christmas Day 2013-5

Nothing says Christmas Eve like deep-frying shrimp chips, chapattis sharing the table with a DIY Vietnamese spring roll spread and Korean bulgogi, and my husband and his boss ducking out after dinner for a 9pm Christmas Eve conference call.

Christmas Eve 2013-3

And what would a holiday be for us this year without Will awake for half the night with a fever and a cough?

We finished drying and putting away the last dishes around 11pm Christmas Eve and, after many, many (many) untimely wake-up calls, I slept in until sunrise this Christmas morning to find my two boys still sound asleep beside me.

All I wanted for Christmas this year (besides a healthy delivery next week) was a day to do nothing but relax.  No big projects, big meals or big plans. I wanted to sit in sweatpants, drink tea, eat leftover mocha cheesecake and watch Will revel in all of the wrapping paper and presents.

Which is pretty much exactly what we did. And it was wonderful. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Merry Christmas! I am loving that last picture of the three of you – so glad you had some time to relax over the holiday. Hoping you get lots more before baby’s arrival. How exciting!

I can’t count the number of Christmases on which at least one of my kids was sick! Even now, my 18 year old has a hacking cough. Fortunately, they do learn to deal with themselves eventually 🙂 Love the family pic.

Good Lord, please feel free to delete the giant scary smiley that showed up in my post!

  4. First off, you look AMAZING for someone who is about to deliver a baby. Holy moly, as a fellow expat preg, I’m really having a hard time getting inspired by my wardrobe, but your outfit is perfection, and giving me tones of inspiration. (And obviously, these are the important things I’m focusing on during this season.) Second, so glad to hear you got a day of relaxation! That’s wonderful!

pshhh I’m so over clothes right now. I hate maternity clothes to begin with but it seems downright unfair when even the few maternity things I have don’t fit anymore! 🙂 Weirdly enough, normal tights stay up a lot better than maternity jeans for some reason. I’m looking forward to meeting our baby but I have to admit I’m also really really really looking forward to wearing normal clothes again too! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
